Preview generated document on SharePoint or Google Drive in tab and Flow

Document preview on a tab
To preview a document on a tab:
-
In the menu, go to Set-up → Edit Page.
-
Create a new tab.
-
From the list of available custom components, select the new component Document Previewer and drag it to the tab.
-
In the parameter documentType, enter the unique setup name of the required document type.
-
Save the changes.
-
Ensure that a document of the chosen type exists on the record page.
The document will now be displayed in preview.
Note: If the document is stored on an external data source (SharePoint or Google Drive) and contains more than two pages, the preview shows the first two pages only. The full document can be opened directly on the external data source using the button in the top-right corner.
Preview in a Flow
To generate and preview a document in a Flow, two new Flow components have been introduced:
-
Document Generate – defines which document type must be generated and for which record ID.
-
Document Preview – displays the preview of the document generated within the Flow (or an existing document).
Advice for setting up the Flow
Hide the footer of the Document Generate component. This component includes a built-in Next step. Hiding the footer prevents users from clicking Next while the document is still being generated.
