More detailed error message for failed automated emails
More insight into email template errors via Interface Logs. MSR-1201 | 2026-02
When sending automated emails, Salesforce may return an error such as:
“EMAIL_TEMPLATE_PROCESSING_ERROR: We don't recognize the field prefix …”.
Until now, the Interface Log only contained this technical error message, without context about which email template caused the issue. This made it difficult for administrators to quickly identify the root cause.
With this new feature, error handling is enhanced so that Interface Logs contain more relevant information about the email template used and the related contact.

Feature explanation
Extended error information in Interface Logs
When an automated email fails due to a template error, the Interface Log will now include, in addition to the standard Salesforce error message:

Name of the email template
-
ID of the email template
-
Subject of the email
-
Link to the related contact, if available
The original Salesforce error message remains unchanged in the log, ensuring that technical details are preserved.
Phased implementation per process
A generic method has been developed that can be applied per process. In this release, implementation has started with the process:

mySign – Digital Signing

Supported email moments within mySign include:

Invitations for candidates and clients
-
Reminders
-
Confirmations after signing
-
Notifications to internal users
The configuration of these emails is managed via Custom Settings, mySign Setting. The enhancement is implemented for both the Mysolution portal and the EC portal.
Set-up / Implementation Time
No additional configuration is required for this feature. The extended error message is automatically applied when an automated email fails within the mySign process.
In future releases, this method will be extended to other automated email processes.
