Use the #candidates# Tag in the Generic Mail Component

Send personalised emails with an automatic list of candidate names via the generic mail component. F104881 | 2026-04

Introduction

Previously, the use of the #candidates# tag was limited to specific mail components, such as those for job application status changes. Users who wanted to use the generic mail component for greater control over recipients and attachments could not use this tag to automatically generate a list of selected candidates. With this release, it is now possible to use the #candidates# tag within the generic mail component as well, making email communication from flows more flexible and powerful.

Who is this feature relevant for?

  • Recruiters
  • System administrators

Benefits at a glance

  • More control over email recipients and document attachments when sending candidate lists.
  • Consistent use of the #candidates# tag across different mail components.
  • More efficient configuration of screen flows for collectively informing stakeholders about multiple candidates.

Feature explanation

The generic mail component has been extended with the logic to recognise and process the #candidates# tag. When this component is called from a flow, the system checks whether the provided record IDs (targetIds) relate to job applications. If this is the case, the tag in the email template is automatically replaced by an alphabetically sorted list of the names of the relevant candidates.

This allows organisations to set up complex email scenarios where they manually select attachments or add specific recipients, while still benefiting from the automatic listing of candidates. This eliminates manual typing and reduces the risk of errors when communicating about groups of applicants to, for example, hiring managers or clients.

Set-up / Implementation time

To use this functionality in existing flows, the generic mail component must be configured with the correct job application IDs as input; no additional system configuration is required.
