New Account Relationships for Intermediaries: Account-Managed Candidates and Managed Accounts

Introduction
Until now, a candidate could only be linked to an individual contact person as a manager. For intermediaries who manage candidates and accounts on behalf of a company, this was insufficient. With this extension, accounts (companies) can also be recorded as the managing party, both for candidates and for other accounts. This makes it possible to correctly register intermediary relationships and synchronise them with Business Central.
Who is this feature relevant for?
- For system administrators who configure the intermediary portal and want to record account relationships between intermediaries, candidates and accounts.
- For organisations that work with intermediaries and want to register which company manages which candidates or accounts.
Benefits at a glance
- An account (company) can now be recorded as the manager of a candidate, in addition to the existing option of doing this at contact level.
- An account can also be recorded as the manager of another account, for example in an intermediary-borrower relationship.
- Both relationships are automatically synchronised with Business Central as soon as the relevant records are ready for synchronisation.
- Records that could not yet synchronise are automatically processed as soon as this becomes possible — no manual intervention is required.
- An account can be marked as an intermediary, making it clear which accounts may fulfil this role.
Feature explanation
Two new objects have been added to Combi:
- Account-managed candidate: records that an account (the intermediary) manages a candidate. A candidate can simultaneously also be managed via a contact person in the existing way; these are independent relationships.
- Managed account: records that an account (the intermediary) manages another account (the borrower). An account can only be managed by one intermediary.
In addition, a new Intermediary field has been added to the account, indicating whether an account may fulfil the role of intermediary. Only accounts with this field ticked can be set as the managing party. This field can no longer be unticked once the account manages other accounts.
Both new relationships are permanent: once created, they cannot be modified. If a relationship needs to be changed, delete the existing record and create a new one. This is the same approach as the existing candidate management relationship.
Records are deleted as soon as the linked account or candidate is deleted, so no unlinked relationships remain.
Set-up / Implementation time
- System administrators must include the new objects and the Intermediary field in the desired page layouts.
- No additional configuration is required for using the intermediary portal with account relationships beyond setting up these layouts.
