CV Parse — Improved User Experience
Improved user experience when processing CVs — from smarter duplicate management to transparent default values and a refreshed interface. F104667 | 2026-04
Introduction
Processing CVs via myParse is a widely used feature. This update makes the screen clearer, smarter and more pleasant to use. The distinction between creating a new candidate record and updating an existing one is now immediately visible, and reviewing potential duplicates is more intuitive than before.
Who is this feature relevant for?
- For recruiters and other users who regularly process CVs via the Home tab or via the document overview on a contact record.
- For application administrators who work with custom field sets for CV processing.
Benefits at a glance
- The distinction between creating a new candidate and updating an existing one is immediately visible in the screen.
- Potential duplicates can be selected directly within the screen itself, without an extra intermediate step.
- The field list adjusts dynamically based on the selected duplicate, so you can immediately see which data will be changed.
- Default field values are correctly displayed when creating a new record.
- Changed fields are more clearly highlighted with a background colour, similar to the standard Salesforce view for record changes.
- The field list and the CV preview scroll independently of each other, so both sections always remain visible.
Feature explanation
The CV processing screen in myParse has been improved in several areas.
When potential duplicates are found, the message "Possible duplicates found! Select one to update it." now appears. Duplicates can be selected directly via a checkbox or by clicking on the row. A selected row is highlighted in green. Additional context is shown alongside each duplicate row: in addition to the name, the current job title and the date of last modification are also displayed.
The action buttons now behave intelligently: the "Update selected candidate" button only appears when a duplicate is selected. The "Create new candidate" button disappears at that point, avoiding any confusion about which action to take. Deselecting the duplicate makes the "Create new candidate" button reappear.
The field list in the screen is dynamic: without a selected duplicate, the screen shows the fields from the create field set, including default values. As soon as a duplicate is selected, the list switches to the update field set (if configured) and takes the current record values as the starting point. Default values are not applied in that case, so existing data is not unintentionally overwritten.
Changed fields are additionally highlighted with a background colour, on top of the existing strikethrough display of the original value. The field list and the CV preview also now scroll independently of each other.
Finally, a number of smaller improvements have been made: the message "No duplicates found." is no longer shown when there are no duplicates, and the CV section has been given a light grey background for a cleaner appearance.
