Configurable Working Days per Week on the Payment Info Component

Prevent incorrect hours and pension contribution calculations for non-standard working weeks with the new Working Days per Week field on the payment info component. F104708 | 2026-04

Introduction

For employees who do not work a standard 5-day working week — for example those working 6 or 7 days per week — the system previously always calculated an incorrect number of Hours per Day. This was because this field on the pay component assumed a fixed working week of 5 days. This incorrect value was sent to Combi, leading to wrong hour totals in the payroll calculation and in particular to an excessive deduction of pension contributions. With this release, we are introducing the new, optional Working Days per Week field on the pay component, ensuring this calculation is now correct.

Who is this feature relevant for?

  • For organisations with employees who work a non-standard number of days per week, for example in continuous shift patterns.
  • For customers who use the integration with Combi and Business Central.
  • For system administrators who configure and manage pay components.

Benefits at a glance

  • The new Working Days per Week field ensures a correct calculation of Hours per Day, even for a non-standard number of working days.
  • Existing pay components remain unchanged: if the field is left empty, 5 working days is automatically assumed.
  • A validation prevents an invalid value from being entered or the calculated Hours per Day from exceeding 24 hours.
  • The correct values for Working Days per Week and Hours per Day are now sent to Combi, both via OData and CRM synchronisation.

Feature explanation

A new field has been added to the pay component: Working Days per Week (numeric, 2 decimal places). This field is not mandatory. The following rules apply when filling it in:

  • The value must be greater than 0 and a maximum of 7.
  • Decimal values, such as 0.5, are permitted.
  • A value of 0 is not valid; leave the field empty to use the default value of 5.

The Hours per Day field is now calculated based on Working Days per Week, instead of a fixed value of 5. If this calculation results in more than 24 hours per day, saving is blocked with an error message. This applies both when changing Working Days per Week on the pay component, and when changing the number of standard hours per week on the employment contract (if pay components are already linked to the contract).

During synchronisation with Combi, the correct values for Working Days per Week and Hours per Day are now sent, instead of the previously fixed values. If Working Days per Week is not filled in, the default value of 5 is also used here.

The calculation of the hourly rate based on a weekly or four-weekly salary now also takes Working Days per Week into account. The calculation based on an hourly, monthly or annual salary does not change.

What remains the same:

  • The synchronisation of placement details already uses its own field and logic for working days per week and does not change.
  • For all existing pay components, the new field remains empty, meaning the default value of 5 is used and nothing changes in the outcome.

Set-up / Implementation time

This functionality is available immediately and requires no configuration. For employees with a non-standard number of working days per week, an application administrator can fill in the Working Days per Week field on the relevant pay component.

Feature Implementation Time

  • Simple implementation: none to 15 minutes (simply filling in the field where needed).
