Improvements in skill selection and skill management

How a skill can be selected has been made clearer and an already selected skill is now easier to recognize. MSR-1209 | 2026-02

As a follow-up to feature MSR-1177, we are adding several further improvements to the Skills component. With this enhancement, we improve usability, consistency with Salesforce standards, and the stability of working with skills within Mysolution.

Who is this feature relevant for?

Deze feature is relevant voor:

  • Recruiters who work with skills on candidates, accounts and vacancies on a daily basis

  • Users who select skills through search functionalities

  • Application administrators who manage and maintain skills

  • Organizations working with extensive skill structures (including tree structures)

Key benefits

  • Clearer skill selection with checkboxes

  • Better visual recognition of already assigned skills

  • Consistent Save and Cancel actions in line with Salesforce UI guidelines

  • Improved user experience with long skill lists

Feature explanation

Checkbox as selection component
The existing visual selection indicator has been replaced by checkboxes. This makes it clearer for users which skills have already been selected.

This change has been implemented in:

Skill Board Matrix when assigning skills

Search Persons when selecting skills

Search Accounts when selecting skills

Marking already selected skills
When you add a skill through the Add popup, skills that have already been selected are now:

Displayed as checked

Shown in a disabled state, preventing them from being removed

Removing an existing skill in the Add popup could unintentionally lead to data loss if the existing skill is part of a skill definition with a tree structure. Removing skills is of course still possible. This is still done in the main skills screen using the cross icon.

Improved Save / Cancel actions
To prevent action buttons from disappearing from view in long skill lists, Save and Cancel have been placed in a fixed section that does not scroll. In addition, both buttons are now center-aligned and the order of the buttons has been reversed; Cancel is now on the left and Save is now on the right, in line with Salesforce guidelines.

Set-up / Implementation Time

No additional configuration is required for this feature. The improvements are immediately available within the existing skill components.
