Enhanced List View Functionality

Manage your records more efficiently with advanced filtering and UI improvements. F105200 | 2026-05

Introduction

Previously, list views had limited filtering capabilities and lacked flexibility in managing multi-picklist fields and visibility settings. This update introduces several enhancements to list views, including multi-picklist inline editing, public group visibility, and integrated skill search, making record management more powerful and intuitive.

Who is this feature relevant for?

  • Recruitment Consultants
  • Staffing Agents
  • System Administrators

Benefits at a glance

  • Edit multiple picklist values directly within the list view for faster data entry.
  • Control list view visibility using public groups for better team collaboration.
  • Perform advanced skill-based searches directly from the filter pane.
  • Improved user interface with clearer button labeling and automatic panel management.

Feature explanation

Users can now perform inline editing on multi-picklist fields within list views, allowing for the selection of multiple values represented as pills, consistent with standard Salesforce behavior. This functionality applies to all list view types and supports multi-record selection, where the entered values will overwrite existing data for all selected records.

To improve list view management, administrators can now assign visibility to specific public groups. By entering the API names of public groups in the new visibility field, list views will be filtered for users within those groups on the home page and the list view selector. Personal list views remain unaffected by these settings, ensuring users always have access to their own custom views.

The filter pane has been expanded to include skill search criteria for Candidates, Contact Persons, and Accounts. Users can add multiple skill definitions as search criteria, which are treated with AND logic to refine results. For managed list views, these skill filters are session-based and will be removed upon reload, while filters added to personal list views are saved for future use.

Additionally, the user interface has been refined for better clarity. The "Preview" button on managed list views has been renamed to "Open List View" to better reflect its function. Furthermore, when activating the FadeIn feature while the filter pane is open, the criteria panel will now automatically close to provide a cleaner workspace.

Set-up / Implementation time

Administrators can configure public group visibility by adding group API names to the new visibility field on list view records. Skill search and inline editing features are available immediately, though skill definitions must be correctly flagged for use with Candidates, Contact Persons, or Accounts to appear in the search options.
